As part of the company meeting, dozens of different customized fortune cookies were handed out, with both hilarious and productive results. One example (that yielded a Paul Haury coffee delivery):
Several of the Fulcrum Technology geeks descended on the Flatstick Pub in Seattle for an indoor putt putt competition. Flatstick is known for their high-quality beers and ciders, many of which were sampled that evening!
Fulcrum, along with partners Globys and Recruiting Bandwidth, had an amazing potluck Thursday, complete with a perfect view of the Seahawks and Mariners stadiums.
So, Paul Haury happened. For years, actually, Paul Haury happened… juggling untold numbers of hats, and handling thousands of Fulcrum issues with thousands of Fulcrum solutions. He was part corporate architect, part motivational speaker, part psychologist, part project manager, part piñata. He was all those things and more.
His bio on the website said “He Keeps Everything Clicking with Heart and Soul”. And at the core, that’s what he did. He kept the departments, the technology, the solutions, the morale, the relationships, and the inspiration clicking, enabling and empowering Fulcrum to succeed in a litany of ways that aren’t even visible to most.
You quickly learn that this man *knows*…*his*…*shit*. He has a quote, saying, methodology, and applicable business tidbit for any possible scenario or paradigm – known as a “Paulism”. This pragmatic and effective stream of consciousness comes from a vigorous and constant quest for learning, exploring, and reading of pretty much every business and tech journal he can get his hands on.
He’s moving on, to be corporate architect, motivational speaker, psychologist, project manager, and piñata to a bigger audience. And he’s taking his trademark hat with him but leaving some big-ass size 18 Shaquille o’Neal shoes to fill.
Yes, Paul Haury happened. And it was a very, very, very good thing. Peace be the journey, friend.
After a taste test (both solo, and inside a Moscow Mule) of ten different ginger beers, it was determined that the best one was from Seattle, WA.
The winner is Malus, a hand crafted brew that keeps it simple but maintains a perfect taste and "mix-ability". Honorable mentions goes to the finalists: Q Ginger Beer, Fever Tree Ginger Beer, The Ginger People Ginger Beer, Hollows & Fentimans Ginger Beer, Gosling's Ginger Beer, Reed's Extra Ginger Beer, and Bundaberg Ginger Beer.
On any given day, Cosmin matches at least one Fulcrum employee... and this day was no exception. Cosmin owns an endless amount of different colors of the same style shirt, leaving people to guess which color is next - there have even been office pools to bet on specific colors...
Saturday, May 7, Fulcrum Technologies was present at the Haiti Babi "Raising Hope" charity event in Seattle to present a (giant) check, enjoy the festivities and participate in the auction in a variety of ways. O Wines, Gamache Vintners, Proletariat, Pearl & Stone Wine Co., Stoup Brewing, and Dry Sparkling were all pouring amazing wines and beverages, while Manu's Bodega and Theo Chocolates provided some tasty foods.
Fulcrum Employees in Gurgaon took to the town, sampling great local cuisines at various Indian restaurants, dancing to American dance music (Amit was the life of the party and Khartik was like watching John Travolta!), and taking in a cricket match between the Delhi Daredevils, and the Mumbai Indians.
